AMBER Aspire Mentoring Programme
At AMBER, we believe that mentorship can support you in your personal growth and development. Our community comprises of talented Asian women, each bringing a wealth of experience and wisdom. We deeply value their knowledge. We have developed a platform where they can receive training to provide mentorship to other Asian women that are seeking guidance in decision-making and navigating their careers.
Through the AMBER Aspire Mentoring, we foster an environment where Asian women can flourish and thrive, empowering them to reach their full potential.
What is mentoring?
Mentoring is when a more experienced person (a mentor) helps guide and support someone with less experience (a mentee). In our Asian community, it means that someone who has been through similar experiences can share their knowledge and advice to help others succeed.
At AMBER, we connect experienced Asian women with those who are looking for guidance in making decisions and building their careers. This way, we help each other grow and achieve our goals together.

Why is mentoring important?
Mentoring builds strong, supportive relationships that can have lasting positive impacts. It plays a crucial role in personal and professional development. It is a powerful tool for fostering growth, development, and success at both individual and community level.
Mentoring ensures the transfer of valuable knowledge and experience from one generation to the next. This helps preserve existing knowledge and promotes continuous improvement within a community.
Mentoring relationships often bring together individuals from different backgrounds and experiences, this diversity can lead to a broader perspective, fostering creativity and innovation.
Mentors help mentees set realistic and achievable goals. They also hold mentees accountable for their progress, which can lead to higher motivation and better outcomes.
Mentoring fosters personal development by building confidence, self-awareness, and a growth mindset. Mentors can offer support and encouragement, helping mentees overcome personal and professional challenges.
Mentoring can also help people expand their networks, which can lead to new job opportunities, collaborations, and valuable professional relationships.

Andi Sull, Mentor and Mentee
“I have sought mentors during transitional points in my life, such as returning to work after maternity leave and feeling lost in my career. A mentor provided clarity and boosted my confidence to take the next steps.
I have also mentored others through The Girl’s Network and my employer’s internal scheme has been equally rewarding, helping others find clarity and get 'unstuck.' I am grateful for the opportunities to be both a mentor and mentee, and my goal is to help other Asian women access these opportunities through the AMBER mentoring programme.”
